My mother has cancer and my sister was recently diagnosed with cancer as well. I suppose other people would go to therapy to managed the stress and address the heartache of such a situation, but I chose powerfully to go to Cache. In the span of an hour I am free of all that binds me as a primary caregiver to two people I love so dearly but whom are terminally ill. What makes that possible for me is everything that Cache brings to each and every student.
From the moment you enter you are embraced by the wonderful sounds of Salsa, that is followed by a warm greeting at the registration table where somehow they remember each and every one of our names. Then you proceed to the area where the students await you, as you change into your dancing shoes you watch Juan and one of the amazing female dancers demonstrate, encourage, and support each dancer on the floor, then that class finishes and they are filled with excitement at completing their routines and then its your turn to do your class!
From the challenge fo shines to the partner portion of the dance I am filled with joy and love. Juan makes the experience very safe for women in every sense of the word. He makes sure the lyrics to the songs are not sleazy and he takes special care to make sure that moves are not offensive however the sunsuality of mambo is ever present and he is a master at creating that balance. You will often hear him say "take care of my ladies" and you know that he means it! He has created an environment of great respect for everyone and this is adhered to with great success.
Recently I moved out of the Bronx so I could be closer to my family and manage their health more effectively. While the commute now presents a challenge, I am committed to the span of an hour at Cache which does so much more than make me a great mambo dancer On2... it is instead the place of self determination, delight and pure unadulterated joy. Quite frankly I think that's more than any therapist could provide!
Happy Dancing On2!

My name is Lizzette and my husband is Michael and we've been dancing with Cache Dance Studios for about a year and a half now and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE them!!!!! We previously had never taken salsa lessons before but we came to the school already knowing how to dance basic salsa. I wanted to learn how to style, be graceful, and learn how to turn without losing my step; and Michael wanted to learn how to lead better, improve him timing and dance patterns. We were in search of a school that was not too far from home, affordable & staffed with exciting teachers that would increase our dance technique and allow us to have fun but also look GREAT on the dance floor - and THIS SCHOOL WAS DEFINITELY THE PLACE FOR US!
They have the BEST instructors who are not only patient & caring, but DEFINITELY dedicated to their work! We have taken salsa, cha cha, men's technique and ladies styling classes; and can't begin to explain the FUN and EXCITEMENT we continuously gain from learning & attending this school. Learning with Cache has definitely increased our technique and time; and we enjoy going out and showing off what we've learned!!! It makes us very proud to say that we attend this school and we have referred a few people to the school who have also fallen in love with them!!
We not only love Cache for learning so much in so little time - but for their loving STAFF! We feel that we are TRULY a part of their family and look forward to their classes each and every week!

Hi Cari & Juan! I have been going to your school for two years. I enjoy sharing time with all the Cache fans. I have gained more friends and now have a larger network for socializing. Its a great place to be and I am so glad my colleague reommended it to me. When I go dancing to lounges etc; I feel more confident and am getting better at following the hand movements. Thanks for your love.

Hi my name is Lydia, I started classes three weeks ago, when I went to my first class I was very intimidated. Then I realized that the other students were beginners like myself, I felt more comfortable. The class was very well mixed with people of all ages. I like how the instructor has the class set up, where you get to dance with everyone. At first I went because a friend of mine asked me to come. By the time the night was over I just knew I would be back. I like the ambiance, the other students and the instructors, they are very friendly and make you feel comfortable. They don't treat you like you don't know how to dance. They welcome you and show you how to enjoy dancing. It beats staying home and watching "Entertainment Tonight"!

Over a year and a half ago I decided to take salsa lessons. All my life I've always been into the disco/house music club scene, but in all my years of clubbing I never knew how to dance salsa (I had "two left feet"). Thanks to Juan & Caridad's patience, love and determination, I now have the confidence to get on the dance floor and dance salsa (and not embarass myself!). Juan & Caridad have made a salsa dancer out of me! And Juan & Caridad will make me a "great dancer" as I further advance myself in their lessons. I must also mention Juan & Caridad's assistants (Denise and Elizabeth) have all the patience in the world in teaching. I really love everyone who's associated with Cache Dance Studios!
